About me

Michael P. Robson is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science department at Smith College. His research is focused on parallelizing, scaling, and accelerating scientific and other research applications from laptops to the largest supercomputers on the planet. Professor Robson is interested in next generation platforms for high performance and parallel computing, has expertise in utilizing GPUs for scientific applications, and is a core contributor to a large scale runtime that undergirds many scientific programs. He is also involved in efforts to educate the broader scientific community on the benefits of and how to use high performance computing (HPC). He received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Alabama.
